Greetings! This will be an experiment in talking all things music. I'll tell you what I'm up to, what I'm listening to, and what drives me crazy. And maybe I'll be turned on to new music by you. My friend Rob Mathes, has an interesting blog, which outlines what he is listening to. I found some great music that I never would have found by checking out his choices. So off we go.
Cheers,
Joel

Hooray! I've been a fan of yours for years, and I'm delighted that you are now able to share some of your unreleased music on the site.
Here's a special request -- any chance you could post some of your wonderful music for "New Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln" (Disneyland)? As you probably know, the attraction was removed to make way for a 50th anniversary film, and it isn't certain that it will be back. I always hoped the exit music would find its way onto an official park album, but unfortunately it never happened.
Many thanks -- and best of luck with the new site

Beautiful site! I've been a real fan of your music and Varese recordings for many years. It's great to have this place to get news about what you're working on.
I will be at your Houston concert in May and am really looking forward to hearing "Portraits". We're just delighted to have you and your wife perform down here.
Good luck with the site and your current projects! :)

Hi, Joel! Congrats on your new official site. It's long overdue.
On a personal note, I am the fellow UM grad (Audio Engineering) who wrote to you back in 95/96. One of the topics I brought up was musicology professor Dr. Barr. You were gracious enough to respond with a wonderful letter which promised more Herrmann/Varese rerecordings; you delivered in spades! ;)
Thanks for all that you've done for the wonderful world of film music.

Hello, Joel! I like the website a lot. The only composition of yours that I've heard is "Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire", but I just wanted to tell you that it is a magnificent work of art and one of my favorite compositions. Sadly, it's received too little attention among the public. Thank you for writing such an amazing composition. It has inspired me to write for stories that aren't on film...yet. I hope to hear your music for "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles" soon. Have a great day!

Dear Joel,
I just found out today about your website.
Nice one!
By looking at the discography I counted 14 of the 18 released soundtracks in my collection. I think this makes me... an admirer of your work.
I would like to thank you, as a 'soundtrack fan', that you provided soundclips of many unreleased scores. I'm still hoping they all (wishfullthinking) will be release on cd.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the joy that you give us thru the music on and off screen.

Wonderful new Site with a treasure trove of great unreleased McNeely compositions! It's a treat to finally hear HOLES in all it's glory.
In these dark ages of film music, I'm heartened to know someone has the talent and ability to compose well-crafted music for film. One only has to listen to your samples to hear what can be accomplished free of the dreaded "Temp track syndrome."
Now, if only the producers and directors take note. ("If you build it, they will come", eh?) I look forward to )
Congratulations again on a terrific web site.

I'm from Singapore and have been a fan of Disney music forever. Now that I'm a Mommy to a 3 year old boy, it's even more magical to be able to share my love of music with him. He adores your music, Mr. McNeely, so thank you for sharing your music and bringing a smile to our faces. God Bless.
